Moroccan Delegation Highlights Investment Opportunities in Spain
The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour, led a significant Moroccan delegation at an economic forum held in Valencia, Spain, titled: “Discovering Morocco: Keys to Investment and Growth in Africa from Valencia.”
The event was organized by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Valencia region in partnership with the Valencia Business Confederation (CEV) and the Morocco-Spain Economic Council (CEMAES). It brought together numerous institutional leaders and economic players from both countries.
Notable attendees included Marián Cano, an advisor to the Valencian government, the presidents of the Chamber of Commerce and the CEV, Morocco’s ambassador to Spain, Karima Benyaich, and Adel Raiss, a representative from CEMAES. Representatives from major Moroccan and Spanish companies were also part of the discussions.
Showcasing Morocco’s Strengths to Spanish Investors
The forum featured participation from several key Moroccan institutions, including the Deposit and Management Fund (CDG), the Tangier Med Special Agency (TMSA), and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE).
These presentations highlighted the Kingdom’s advantages in investment, industry, and logistics while showcasing several concrete examples of successful industrial cooperation between Morocco and Spain.
Strategic Sectors at the Heart of Discussions
Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in several strategic sectors, including industry, logistics, textiles, automotive, agrifood, energy, infrastructure, and renewable energy.
Participants emphasized the strength of economic relations between Morocco and the Valencia region. Morocco currently ranks as the third-largest supplier to the region outside the European Union, with over 2,800 Valencian exporting companies actively involved in the Moroccan market.
B2B Meetings Generating Opportunities
The forum concluded with a series of business meetings between Moroccan and Spanish companies. These exchanges encompassed various sectors, including footwear, furniture, textiles, agrifood, tourism, and pharmaceuticals.
These meetings enabled the identification of new partnership opportunities and strengthened prospects for cooperation between economic operators on both sides of the Mediterranean.
Morocco: A Strategic Hub between Europe and Africa
Through this initiative, organizers reaffirmed the growing interest of Spanish companies in the Moroccan market. The forum also highlighted Morocco’s positioning as a leading industrial and logistical platform, providing investors with privileged access to African and European markets.
This meeting reflects the positive dynamics of Morocco-Spain economic relations and confirms both countries’ commitment to further consolidating their strategic partnership.
