Marrakech-Safi: The CRI and ANDA Join Forces to Boost Investment in Aquaculture

The Regional Investment Center (CRI) of Marrakech-Safi and the National Agency for Aquaculture Development (ANDA) have signed a partnership agreement in Marrakech aimed at strengthening their collaboration to promote investment in aquaculture.

This agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Marine Aquaculture Forum, and it was endorsed by Mahfoud Moussaid, director of CRI Marrakech-Safi, and Majida Maârouf, director of ANDA.

The goal is to create a favorable environment for investors by enhancing support for project leaders, strengthening the region’s attractiveness, and fostering the emergence of an integrated, innovative, and competitive aquaculture ecosystem.

A One-Stop Shop to Simplify Investor Processes

Through this partnership, both institutions plan to establish a one-stop shop dedicated to aquaculture investment.

This initiative will centralize support for investors by combining ANDA’s technical expertise with the administrative and procedural assistance provided by CRI Marrakech-Safi.

According to Majida Maârouf, the region has numerous strengths that position it as a strategic hub for aquaculture development in Morocco. This partnership aims to enhance synergies between the two organizations to facilitate the realization of projects.

Making Marrakech-Safi a National Hub for the Blue Economy

On his part, Mahfoud Moussaid emphasized that this agreement will better coordinate the actions of both institutions to ensure optimal support for both existing investors and new project leaders.

This initiative seeks to accelerate the development of the aquaculture sector in the region, encourage the creation of new investments, and enhance the economic attractiveness of Marrakech-Safi.

A Lever for Food Sovereignty and the Blue Economy

Through this collaboration, CRI Marrakech-Safi and ANDA reaffirm their commitment to promoting sustainable aquaculture that creates wealth and jobs.

This initiative aligns with national guidelines aimed at developing the blue economy, leveraging the Kingdom’s maritime potential, and strengthening food sovereignty.

Founded in 2011 as part of the Halieutis strategy, ANDA works towards the development of marine aquaculture with the aim of making it a growth engine for the Moroccan fisheries sector.
