JAIDA and ODCO Join Forces to Facilitate Financing for Moroccan Cooperatives

JAIDA and the Office of Development Cooperation Sign Partnership to Enhance Financing Access for Moroccan Cooperatives
On July 7, 2026, in Rabat, JAIDA and the Office of Development Cooperation (ODCO) signed a partnership agreement aimed at improving access to financing for Moroccan cooperatives. Through this collaboration, the two institutions aspire to bolster financial inclusion for cooperatives and support their sustainable development as part of the national strategy for promoting the social and solidarity economy.
Overcoming Financial Barriers for Cooperatives
Accessing financing remains one of the primary challenges faced by many Moroccan cooperatives. Their capital needs, often inadequately addressed by traditional funding mechanisms, hinder their growth, modernization, and ability to create value.
This new partnership seeks to address this issue by combining ODCO’s expertise in supporting and structuring cooperatives with JAIDA’s know-how in financing actors in the social and solidarity economy.
Comprehensive Support for Cooperatives
The established framework will provide comprehensive support for cooperatives, from identifying organizations with significant development potential to guiding them toward suitable financing solutions.
The journey will also include evaluation and monitoring phases aimed at enhancing the capabilities of cooperatives and facilitating their access to funding.
A Scoring System for Enhanced Project Evaluation
To optimize the selection of beneficiaries, JAIDA and ODCO will implement a scoring system based on the evaluation criteria of both institutions.
This assessment will consider several indicators, including the economic viability of projects, governance quality, repayment capacity, and the level of organization and structuring of candidate cooperatives.
Strengthening the Role of Cooperatives in Territorial Development
Through this initiative, the partners aim to promote the emergence of more effective cooperatives that can sustainably integrate into local and national economic dynamics.
The goal is to support wealth creation, enhance employment opportunities, and strengthen the contribution of cooperatives to the inclusive development of territories.
Two Committed Actors in the Service of the Social Economy
JAIDA, a financing establishment approved by Bank Al-Maghrib, supports actors in the social and solidarity economy, including cooperatives, associations, micro-entrepreneurs, and income-generating project holders.
Meanwhile, the Office of Development Cooperation focuses on the development of the cooperative sector through efforts in structuring, training, governance enhancement, and integrating cooperatives into economic circuits.
This partnership signifies a promising step forward in augmenting the role of cooperatives in Morocco, fostering economic growth and inclusion across sectors.
