Desalination: British company Hydro Industries selects Morocco to accelerate its development in Africa.

Hydro Industries Expands Internationally with New Moroccan Subsidiary
The British firm Hydro Industries is strengthening its international presence by officially launching its Moroccan subsidiary, Hydro Services Morocco. Based in Casablanca, this new entity aims to engage in significant desalination and water treatment projects that Morocco is undertaking, positioning itself as one of the most promising markets in Africa in this sector.
Established in March 2026 as a simplified joint-stock company (SAS), Hydro Services Morocco has a share capital of 1 million dirhams and will cover the entire value chain of the hydraulic sector, from facility design to operation and maintenance.
Comprehensive Solutions for Water Treatment
The Moroccan subsidiary will develop solutions tailored for communities and industries alike. Its activities will encompass the design of hydraulic structures, pretreatment systems, wastewater treatment plants, domestic and industrial wastewater processing, as well as desalination units for seawater and brackish water.
Additionally, the company plans to market specialized equipment and provide consulting, engineering, and water quality analysis services to support both public and private entities.
A Growing Moroccan Market
Hydro Industries’ entrance comes at a time marked by an acceleration of water investments in Morocco. In response to water stress, the kingdom is heavily relying on desalination and aims to increase the share of potable water sourced from this technology to 60% by 2030. Annual production is expected to reach 1.7 billion cubic meters, compared to approximately 320 million currently. Several stations are already operational, while new strategic projects are underway in Casablanca, Safi, El Jadida, and Dakhla.
This dynamic growth is attracting more and more international investors specializing in water technologies.
A British SME Continuing Its Expansion
Founded in 2010 and headquartered in London, Hydro Industries develops solutions for wastewater treatment, potable water production, and industrial wastewater cleanup.
The group is already active in the United Kingdom, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia and boasts several international references, including two major contracts in Ecuador for water treatment.
However, the latest financial statements released in the UK reveal a decline in several financial indicators for the 2024 fiscal year, including assets, cash flow, and workforce. Despite this downturn, the executives believe that the company possesses the resources needed for continued international development.
