ASMEX: A New Roadmap to Boost Moroccan Exporters to 10,000 by 2030

ASMEX Embarks on a New Chapter for Moroccan Exporters

The Moroccan Confederation of Exporters (ASMEX) is embarking on a new chapter in its development. On July 14th, in Casablanca, the first Board of Directors meeting for the 2026-2029 term, chaired by Sonia Mezzour, laid the groundwork for an ambitious strategy aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Moroccan companies in international markets.

This inaugural meeting was an opportunity to establish new governance structures, present the primary orientations of the term, and adopt a roadmap focused on boosting exports and supporting Moroccan businesses.

An Ambitious Goal: 10,000 Exporting Companies by 2030

Among the key priorities set by the new leadership team is the expansion of the network of exporting companies.

ASMEX aims to work collaboratively with public authorities and various economic stakeholders to increase the number of Moroccan companies engaged in exports to 10,000 by 2030.

To achieve this ambitious goal, the Confederation plans to enhance support for high-potential SMEs across all regions of the Kingdom and promote the emergence of new first-time exporters capable of entering international markets.

Three Levers to Boost Moroccan Exports

To support the momentum of exports, ASMEX has identified three major strategic axes.

The first aims to simplify the exporting process by digitalizing administrative procedures and reducing the constraints faced by businesses.

The second focuses on strengthening mechanisms for export financing, particularly by improving access to credit solutions, financial guarantees, and risk mitigation instruments related to international trade.

Finally, the Confederation aims to develop a more intelligence-driven approach, leveraging strategic data, digital tools, and a better understanding of opportunities in foreign markets.

Adapting Moroccan Businesses to Global Trade Transformations

Board members also analyzed the profound transformations currently reshaping international trade.

Key challenges include geopolitical fragmentation, the reorganization of global value chains, the resurgence of industrial policies, tightening regulatory standards, and the acceleration of the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Amid these developments, ASMEX believes that Morocco has significant advantages to strengthen its international positioning, particularly due to its stability, free trade agreements, modern infrastructures, and proximity to major European and African markets.

ASMEX Aspires to Be a Central Player in Export Competitiveness

Through this new strategy, the Confederation aims to solidify its role as a national platform dedicated to developing exports.

Its ambition is to unite exporting companies, enhance dialogue with public institutions, and provide concrete solutions to assist economic operators in their international development.

This new term thus marks ASMEX’s commitment to actively contribute to the diversification of Moroccan exports and elevate the presence of national companies in global markets.
