easyJet’s base in Marrakech: the result of a shared vision and close cooperation with Morocco.

The CEO of easyJet, Kenton Jarvis, stated that the opening of the airline’s base in Marrakech marks the realization of a shared vision and close cooperation with Moroccan partners.
A Strategic Partnership to Enhance Air Travel
Speaking during the inauguration of this new base at the Marrakech-Ménara Airport, as part of a long-term partnership with the Moroccan National Tourist Office, Mr. Jarvis emphasized that this initiative will expand travel opportunities through increased flight and stay offerings, while contributing to the vibrancy of the local economy and job creation.
Expansion of Operations in Morocco
He indicated that the airline has been operating in five Moroccan airports since 2025: Marrakech, Agadir, Rabat, Essaouira, and Tangier. With the establishment of this new base, easyJet anticipates a record capacity of up to four million seats in its first year of operation.
A Significant Economic and Social Impact
This establishment is expected to generate around 100 direct jobs and thousands of indirect jobs, thereby assisting regional economic development and enhancing Morocco’s appeal as a tourist destination. The executive reaffirmed the company’s commitment to support the Kingdom’s ambitions through sustainable investments and improved air connectivity.
A Promising Tourism Landscape
For his part, the CEO of the Moroccan National Tourist Office, Achraf Fayda, praised this significant milestone in a sustainable partnership, highlighting the encouraging performance of the tourism sector and a positive trend expected to continue through 2030.
Aviation as a Strategic Lever
He also emphasized the key role of air transport in bolstering international connectivity, particularly with Europe, believing that this partnership will help strengthen Morocco’s position as a major tourist destination and expand its air network.
New Flight Routes on the Horizon
In line with its network development, the airline announced the launch of new routes to Marrakech, including from Prague, Newcastle, and Zurich, along with additional connections to Essaouira and Agadir. Furthermore, several existing routes will be maintained throughout the year, notably to Lille, Strasbourg, and Hamburg.
This new base, featuring three aircraft in Marrakech, solidifies easyJet’s position as the second-largest airline in the city, while offering more European destinations and greater flexibility for travelers.
