SRM Béni Mellal-Khénifra: Launch of a Liquid Sanitation Project Worth Over 35.6 Million MAD in Oulad Gnaou
On the occasion of the 27th anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne, the region of Béni Mellal-Khénifra launched a significant wastewater management project in Oulad Gnaou, aimed at strengthening basic infrastructure and improving the living conditions of the local population.
The launch ceremony took place on July 21, 2026, under the presidency of the Wali of the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, accompanied by the General Director of the Béni Mellal-Khénifra Multiservices Company (SRM BMK). Attendees included the president of the regional council, the president of the municipality of Oulad Gnaou, as well as several elected officials, representatives from decentralized services, and local and security authorities.
An investment of over 35.6 million dirhams
The project involves an investment of over 35.6 million dirhams as part of the National Wastewater Management and Treated Water Reuse Program (PNAM).
This new infrastructure aims to support the development of the Oulad Gnaou center by providing the municipality with a modern sewage network capable of meeting the population’s needs while enhancing environmental protection.
Infrastructure to enhance living conditions
The planned works include the establishment of a wastewater management network designed to connect the households in the center of Oulad Gnaou.
The project also involves the installation of rainwater collection systems, flood protection equipment, and the connection of effluents to a treatment plant, ensuring their treatment in compliance with environmental standards.
Ultimately, these improvements will enhance sanitary conditions, preserve natural resources, and provide a healthier environment for residents.
