El Jadida Sea Forum: ISEM Alumni Raises Awareness Among Youth about Maritime Careers

On the occasion of its participation in the El Jadida Sea Forum, taking place from October 1 to 4, 2026, the ISEM ALUMNI Association, which represents the graduates of the Higher Institute of Maritime Studies, is continuing its commitment to promoting maritime culture through an awareness program aimed at young people.
Following the announcement of the launch of The Blue Class before the Forum, ISEM ALUMNI is now fully engaged on the ground with several initiatives designed to bring young people closer to the maritime world.
Maritime professions meet children
Since the start of its participation in the Forum, ISEM ALUMNI has been welcoming visitors to the Archipelago of Children to help them discover the universe and diversity of maritime careers. This introduction is notably supervised by student officers from ISEM, who, during this experience, become ambassadors of a new generation of maritime professionals.
Through simple and interactive exchanges, children learn that behind the sea lie ships, ports, professions, skills, technologies, and numerous career opportunities.
This initiative reflects ISEM ALUMNI’s desire to change perceptions of the maritime world: the sea is not just a recreational space or a horizon; it is also a space for living, knowledge, employment, innovation, and economic development.
The Blue Class Adapts to Younger Audiences
ISEM ALUMNI is also deploying a specially adapted version of The Blue Class for elementary school children as part of the Forum.
Designed as a discovery experience rather than a classroom lesson, this initiative enables children to explore the sea, ships, ports, and maritime professions through language and activities tailored to their age.
The goal is simple: to discover, understand, and imagine.
For ISEM ALUMNI, building a genuine maritime culture must begin at the youngest age. There can be no sustainable national maritime ambition without a generation that knows the sea, understands its importance, and can envision its future.
High Schools in El Jadida Also Get Involved
Alongside the Forum, ISEM ALUMNI has organized several sessions of The Blue Class in its original version at high schools in the city of El Jadida. These sessions help extend the initiative beyond the Forum’s audience and maintain dialogue with schools and young people. This experience gradually confirms the potential of The Blue Class as a genuine tool for maritime awareness, likely to be developed in various institutions and regions.
A Concrete Contribution to Morocco’s Maritime Renaissance
Through these actions, ISEM ALUMNI aims to anchor youth awareness within a broader ambition: to contribute to the maritime renaissance of Morocco. The association believes that this renaissance does not solely rely on infrastructure, ports, ships, or economic activities. It also involves building a maritime culture shared by society as a whole.
Youth naturally represents one of the primary levers.
Every child who discovers a maritime profession, every student who understands the role of a port, and every young person who meets an officer represents a bridge to Morocco’s maritime future.
With The Blue Class, ISEM ALUMNI chooses to transform its vision into action: to educate today to prepare tomorrow’s maritime stakeholders.
