Cape Verde Reaffirms Support for Morocco’s Territorial Integrity
During a meeting held this Monday at the House of Representatives, Orlando Pereira Dias, the president of the parliamentary friendship group between Cape Verde and Morocco, reiterated his country’s unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory.
Accompanied by a high-level Cape Verdean parliamentary delegation, Mr. Pereira Dias expressed, during his discussions with the President of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, that Cape Verde firmly backs Morocco within continental and international bodies, according to an official statement.
On this occasion, he praised the efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in favor of Africa’s development, highlighting the major projects initiated by the Kingdom and the remarkable progress made under the Sovereign’s leadership.
In response, Mr. Talbi Alami thanked the Cape Verdean government and parliament for their support of Morocco, while emphasizing the strength of bilateral relations. He also underscored the importance of parliamentary visits, such as the ongoing one, in enhancing institutional cooperation and broadening partnership prospects between the two countries.
The discussions also highlighted the exceptional nature of Moroccan-Cape Verdean relations, characterized by mutual support in international forums. Both delegations stressed the importance of ongoing dialogue, the exchange of parliamentary expertise, and the sharing of best practices, aiming to strengthen the links between the legislative institutions of the two countries in service of development and common interests on the African continent.
The visit of the parliamentary friendship group, taking place from April 12 to April 18, includes parliamentarians Carlos Tavares Rodrigues, Nelson Do Rosario Brito, Carla Santos de Carvalho, Luis Joaquim Gonçalves Pires, and Aniceto de Jesus Lopes Cardoso Barbosa, as well as several administrative officials.
