Assurance: Sanlam Morocco Officially Becomes SanlamAllianz Morocco

Sanlam Maroc has taken a significant step in its development. On June 8, 2026, shareholders met in an extraordinary general assembly and approved the renaming of the insurer, which will now be known as SanlamAllianz Maroc, pending approval from the Insurance and Social Welfare Control Authority (ACAPS).
This change signifies the culmination in Morocco of the strategic partnership initiated between the Sanlam and Allianz groups across Africa.
The Realization of a Continental Partnership
The project dates back to 2021 when the Sanlam and Allianz groups announced the merger of their operations in several African markets. After navigating various regulatory and operational stages, this alliance has led to the creation of SanlamAllianz, now present in 25 countries across the continent.
In Morocco, the implementation of this strategy has been gradual to comply with competition regulations, ultimately culminating in the consolidation of operations under a single brand.
A Historic Player in Transformation
Having been a part of the Moroccan market for several decades, the company has undergone several major transformations, transitioning from CNIA to CNIA Saada, then Saham Assurance, before becoming Sanlam Maroc in 2022.
This transformation is part of a modernization effort aimed at strengthening governance, risk management, and operational performance in an increasingly competitive environment.
A Merger for Growth and Competitiveness
The merger with Allianz Maroc is expected to provide the group with an expanded customer base, improved risk diversification, and increased investment capacity for innovation and digital transformation.
This initiative also aims to pool the expertise of both companies, enhancing service quality and strengthening connections with policyholders throughout the national territory.
New Ambitions for the Moroccan Market
With this new identity, SanlamAllianz Maroc aims to embark on a new cycle of growth and sustainably reinforce its position among the leading insurance players in Morocco.
Backed by a pan-African group present in 25 countries, the company intends to leverage its local experience and the strength of its continental network to support the evolution of the sector and meet the new needs of individuals and businesses.
