Casablanca: Launch of the “Izdihar Green Shift” Program to Accelerate Industrial Decarbonization

The Association of Industrial Zones of the Sidi Bernoussi Prefecture “Izdihar” launched the “Izdihar Green Shift” program on Wednesday in Casablanca. This pilot initiative aims to accelerate the decarbonization of industrial zones in Morocco and enhance the competitiveness of businesses.
A program supported by several institutions
Developed in partnership with Green Wave and backed by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce as well as the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, this program aligns with the Kingdom’s climate commitments, including the Nationally Determined Contributions and the low-carbon strategy aimed at 2050.
The central role of energy transition
In a video address, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour, emphasized the importance of this initiative in industrial and energy transitions, highlighting the role of energy efficiency in reducing costs and improving company performance.
An integrated approach for industrial zones
Adil Farssi, President of the Izdihar Association, explained that the program is based on a comprehensive approach that combines awareness, training, technical assistance, and the development of collective projects, aiming to transform industrial zones into energy transition platforms.
Technical support and standardization
The General Director of the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency (AMEE) underscored the importance of supporting companies towards renewable energy and optimizing industrial processes. The General Director of IMANOR also stressed the role of environmental standards and certification in ensuring the credibility of corporate commitments.
Signing of partnership agreements
The meeting was highlighted by the signing of three partnership agreements between Izdihar, AMEE, IMANOR, and Green Wave. These agreements aim to structure the program’s implementation and strengthen cooperation around decarbonization and industrial competitiveness challenges.
