Cegelec Secures a 2 Billion Dirham Contract for Electrical Infrastructure in Guinea

The Moroccan company Cegelec continues its expansion in Africa by securing a significant contract in Guinea for the establishment of major electrical infrastructure, with a value exceeding 2 billion dirhams.

A Strategic Project for Guinea’s Electric Network
Awarded by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Guinea, this project encompasses the design and construction of high-voltage lines and substations, along with a photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 50 MWc, complemented by an evacuation station connected to the national grid.

Strengthening the Energy Transition
This program aims to enhance the reliability and capacity of Guinea’s electrical network while promoting the integration of renewable energy sources, particularly solar energy, into the country’s energy mix.

Knowledge Transfer and Local Expertise
According to Cegelec, the project will rely on the involvement of local expertise, with a particular emphasis on transferring know-how to enhance the technical capabilities of Guinean teams in the fields of electricity and solar energy.

Expanding African Presence
This new contract aligns with the international achievements of the company, which is already active in several countries across Africa and the Middle East, confirming its position as a key player in energy infrastructure on the continent.

Official Launch of Works
The official launch of the project took place on Saturday, April 18, in Kamissaya, within the prefecture of Kindia, in the presence of Guinean officials and company representatives, marking the commencement of this structural initiative.
