Eiffage Highlights Its 4 Noor Atlas Solar Power Plants in Morocco
Eiffage’s Moroccan Solar Projects Highlighted in H1 2026 Performance
The French group Eiffage has placed its four photovoltaic power plants in Morocco, part of the Noor Atlas program with a combined capacity of 225 MWp, among the notable projects of its operations in the first half of 2026.
In its semiannual results presentation published on Wednesday, August 26, the group emphasized the progress of this project being carried out on behalf of the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen).
The project is led by Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, which is responsible for all major phases, from design to construction, including installation, commissioning, and grid connection. The French subsidiary will also oversee the operation and maintenance of the facilities for seven years.
Construction commenced at the beginning of 2026, and the delivery of the four plants is scheduled for mid-2027.
Four Photovoltaic Plants Across Several Provinces
The scope assigned to Eiffage includes four facilities: Noor Aïn Béni Mathar, with a capacity of 121 MWp; Noor Enjil, with 42 MWp; Noor Boudnib, with 33 MWp; and Noor Bouanane, which has a capacity of 29 MWp.
Together, these four plants represent nearly three-quarters of the 305 MW announced for the entire Noor Atlas program.
The overall program encompasses six plants located in Aïn Béni Mathar in the Jerada province, Boudnib in the Errachidia province, Bouanane in the Figuig province, Enjil in the Boulemane province, as well as in Tata and Tan-Tan.
The last two plants, which are not included in the scope given to Eiffage, complete the program developed by Masen and the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE).
An Investment of 2.8 Billion Dirhams
The financial scale of the program also indicates its significance. According to the Bank of Africa, the total investment dedicated to the six plants is estimated at around 2.8 billion dirhams.
However, the bank specifies a total capacity of 240 MWac, while Masen and ONEE report an installed capacity of 305 MW. This discrepancy primarily arises from the use of two different measurement units, with Eiffage indicating a cumulative capacity of 225 MWp for its four installations.
The financing for the program was successfully closed on January 13, 2026. The funding includes concessional loans from the German bank KfW and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
ONEE is set to purchase the electricity produced by the six plants through long-term power purchase agreements.
A Local Manufacturing Dimension
The Noor Atlas program also includes an industrial component within Morocco.
Last April, Nexans Morocco announced that it, along with its partners, had won a contract to supply cables and transformation solutions for the collection and evacuation networks of electricity produced by the plants.
The company highlighted the local design and manufacturing of part of the equipment intended for the project.
According to the Moroccan-German Energy Partnership, the first commissioning of the plants is expected to begin in July 2027. Once fully operational, the program is anticipated to prevent over 239,700 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
Eiffage Énergie Systèmes Continues Its Growth
The Moroccan project comes at a time when Eiffage Énergie Systèmes confirms its growth momentum.
The subsidiary recorded revenues of €3.954 billion in the first half of 2026, approximately 42.8 billion dirhams. This figure represents a growth of 4.8% compared to the €3.772 billion recorded in the same period of 2025.
Its current margin also increased from 4.9% to 5.2%, while its order book reached €9.5 billion, up 9% year-on-year.
At the group level, Eiffage reported €12.2 billion in revenue for the first half, an increase of 2.3%. The net profit attributable to the group was €342 million, marking a rise of 12.1%.
The construction activities alone generated revenues of €10.296 billion, with an order backlog of €31.5 billion, up 7% year-on-year.
The Exact Impact of the Moroccan Project Remains Unclear
Despite highlighting the Noor Atlas program, Eiffage has not disclosed the contract value awarded to its subsidiary or the specific revenue generated in Morocco.
As a result, it remains challenging to accurately measure the financial contribution of the four Moroccan plants to the semiannual results of Eiffage Énergie Systèmes.
Nevertheless, the group anticipates a slight increase in its revenues for the entire 2026 financial year in the construction and infrastructure sectors, while Eiffage Énergie Systèmes is expected to continue its growth, albeit at a slower pace than in 2025.
