FLSHM Hosts the 2nd Edition of the International Student Documentary Film Festival

The Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Mohammedia, known as FLSHM, has announced a call for submissions for the second edition of the International Student Documentary Film Festival, scheduled for April 9, 10, and 11, 2026. The event aims to bring together student filmmakers from Morocco and abroad for a competition centered on documentary cinema.
In its official announcement, the faculty encourages students from institutes, universities, and training and research centers, both public and private, to submit their works to compete for the festival’s official awards. This initiative is designed to promote documentary filmmaking in academia and encourage the artistic expression of young filmmakers.
Participation Conditions
Submitted documentaries must have been produced in 2024, 2025, or 2026 and cannot exceed a duration of 15 minutes. The works should meet high standards of sound and visual quality, suitable for public screening.
The application dossier should include:
- The documentary film;
- A photo of the director along with the film’s poster;
- A synopsis (maximum four lines) in Arabic and English;
- A signed authorization from the director or producer allowing the film to be screened at the festival and for excerpts to be used for promotional purposes;
- A still image extracted from the film, chosen by the director.
Three Awards in Competition
The selected films will compete for three awards:
- Fatima al-Fihriya Award (First Prize)
- Fatima Mernissi Award (Second Prize)
- Mohammedia Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences Award (Third Prize)
Through this second edition, the Faculty reaffirms its commitment to positioning the festival within an international framework, turning Mohammedia into a space for meeting, exchange, and the appreciation of student documentary perspectives.
