The "Al Assil" Festival for Cultures and Arts: A Celebration of Moroccan Cultural Heritage
The 6th edition of the "Al Assil" Festival for Cultures and Arts kicked off in Casablanca on Wednesday, themed "The Role of Moroccan Cultural Heritage in Strengthening National Identity."
Organized by the Al Fane Al Assil Troupe until December 6, and supported by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, as well as the Mohammed V Theater, the Casablanca-Settat Regional Directorate of Culture, and the Sidi Belyout district, this event features a rich program that includes four professional theatrical performances, three training workshops, and two artistic meetings open to the public.
Ayoub Benhabbach, the festival’s artistic director, highlighted that this event has become a crucial platform for exploring significant societal phenomena through arts and culture. He emphasized the goal of transmitting culture to the youth, encouraging artistic creations, and enhancing the connection between heritage and development.
The festival brings together public institutions, cultural organizations, artists, and civil society, demonstrating a collective dynamic aimed at promoting Moroccan cultural values.
Over the years, "Al Assil" has established itself as a showcase for national artistic expression and a privileged space for the exchange of ideas, enriching the Moroccan cultural scene through intellectual, theatrical, and artistic initiatives.
The opening ceremony featured a touching tribute to artist Salah Eddine Ben Moussa, celebrating his remarkable career and significant contributions to Moroccan cinema and theater.
