In celebration of the 27th anniversary of Throne Day, the city of Guelmim has launched a new series of projects aimed at enhancing local infrastructure and improving public services for the benefit of its residents.

The inaugurations were presided over by the wali of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region and governor of Guelmim Province, Mohamed Najem Abhai, in the presence of elected officials, civilian and military leaders, as well as several local stakeholders.

These initiatives align with the ongoing development momentum within the region, aiming to support its growth while addressing the needs of the community.

A New Civil Protection Station

Among the key projects is the inauguration of a new Civil Protection station, built with an investment of 65.11 million dirhams.

This facility is designed to enhance the region’s response and rescue capabilities, featuring an administrative building, accommodation areas, a garage for intervention vehicles, as well as multiple technical rooms. Modern equipment is included to improve the operational efficiency of the Civil Protection teams.

A Platform Dedicated to Youth Support

The official delegation also inaugurated the Guelmim Youth Platform, a dedicated space aimed at welcoming, guiding, and assisting young people with their training, employment, and socio-economic integration projects.

The establishment of this facility required an investment of 3 million dirhams. It aims to promote the emergence of youth-led initiatives and strengthen their integration into the region’s economic and social life.

New Multi-Sport Facilities to Encourage Sports Participation

The program also includes the development of new multi-sport facilities, representing an investment of 6.59 million dirhams.

These infrastructures will expand the range of accessible sports facilities for youth, promote physical activity, and create local recreational spaces within the city.

Investments for Regional Development

Through these new projects, local authorities continue their efforts to reinforce public facilities and enhance the quality of services offered to citizens.

These achievements reflect a commitment to supporting regional development in Guelmim-Oued Noun, investing in modern infrastructures dedicated to safety, youth engagement, and sports, while fostering the region’s economic and social dynamism.
