Mohammed V Airport: Casablanca Prepares a New Terminal Area to Accommodate Traffic Growth

Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport Set for Major Development

Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca is preparing to take a significant step forward in its development. As part of its 2026 investment program, the National Airports Office (ONDA) plans to establish a new terminal area, along with aeronautical and technical infrastructure intended to enhance the capabilities of Morocco’s main airport hub.

Beyond the renovation of existing terminals, this project reflects the ambition to transform Casablanca into a top-tier air hub capable of accommodating the continuous growth of both national and international traffic.

Infrastructure Designed for Future Needs

ONDA’s program includes launching several contracts for the construction of the aeronautical infrastructure of this new terminal area. The work will involve technical facilities, communication networks, security systems, and essential equipment necessary for the smooth operation of a modern airport.

The project also incorporates the creation of parking areas, outdoor developments, and new roadways to enhance access and manage the flow of passengers and vehicles around the airport platform.

Enhanced Energy Infrastructure and Technical Oversight

Among the key components of the construction are installations dedicated to the production and distribution of electrical energy and other fluids needed for the operation of the future terminal. These facilities are designed to support the airport’s growing capacity.

Simultaneously, ONDA plans several engineering missions, project management assistance, quality control, and topographic monitoring to ensure the smooth progression of the work and compliance with international standards.

Casablanca Affirms Its Ambition as a Regional Hub

This new terminal area is part of the national strategy to modernize airport infrastructure, which aims to support the development of air transport, enhance Morocco’s international connectivity, and meet the country’s ambitions for 2030.

By increasing its capacity and modernizing its facilities, Mohammed V Airport aims to reinforce its role as the country’s primary air gateway and strengthen Casablanca’s position as a regional platform connecting Europe, Africa, and the rest of the world.
