Mohammed VI Investment Fund: 7.2 Billion Dirhams Committed by the End of 2025

Mohammed VI Investment Fund Allocates 7.2 Billion Dirhams by 2025
The Mohammed VI Investment Fund (FM6I) has committed 7.2 billion dirhams in equity funding by the end of 2025, according to its first Impact Report focused on this fiscal period. By that date, the Fund’s interventions had benefitted 52 companies and supported the creation of over 15,000 jobs.
Investment activities in Private Equity have helped mobilize 18.7 billion dirhams in capital, with 14.4 billion dirhams contributed by third-party investors. This mobilization signifies a multiplier effect of 4.3 times, demonstrating the Fund’s capacity to attract complementary funding.
Of the total amount committed, 3.9 billion dirhams were dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Indirect investment has also produced positive employment impacts: the 11 companies supported by the seven funds subscribed to by FM6I accounted for 3,963 jobs sustained, including 1,376 held by women and 110 by young people.
Strengthened Support for Businesses and Startups
The Fund is continuing its efforts to structure the venture capital ecosystem in Morocco. An expression of interest launched in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, as well as CDG, has received 47 applications, out of which nine management companies have been preselected.
This initiative aims to establish a funding pathway to support startups from their early development phases to advanced growth stages.
Additionally, subordinated debt instruments serve as another lever for financing businesses. By 2025, 85 projects had secured financing agreements within this framework, with 1.2 billion dirhams in equity committed by the Fund. The total anticipated investments amount to 6.6 billion dirhams, yielding a catalytic effect of 5.4 times.
These interventions have helped sustain over 7,000 jobs and are expected to contribute to the creation of more than 4,000 additional positions.
Among the targeted mechanisms is CapAccess, which has mobilized 1.9 billion dirhams in investments benefiting 33 companies across seven regions. This mechanism has supported and created 4,330 jobs while facilitating financing for modernization and development projects for businesses.
ESG Criteria at the Core of the Strategy
The report also underscores the importance placed on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. By 2025, all of the Fund’s investments had been evaluated against these criteria, with all partner management companies engaged in the Fund’s ESG program.
In total, 150 environmental and social actions were identified in dedicated action plans, with 76 completed within the year.
Dialogue with management companies has also resulted in an evaluation score of 4.5 out of 5 in terms of quality. The Fund’s approach is notably based on the performance standards of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI).
Through these various instruments, the FM6I aims to strengthen business financing, mobilize more private capital, and support the development of productive investment in Morocco.
