The United Nations Development Programme in Morocco Participates in the 8th National Civil Society Forum
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Morocco took part in the 8th edition of the National Civil Society Forum, held on May 8 and 9, 2026, in Oujda.
This event brought together institutional, territorial, and associative stakeholders, as well as development partners, to discuss issues related to civil society and local development, particularly in the Oriental region.
A Space for Dialogue on Supporting Associations
At its booth, UNDP Morocco showcased its various approaches to supporting civil society organizations.
The aim was to strengthen dialogue with local associative actors and share best practices in supporting local initiatives, emphasizing projects grounded in territorial realities.
The DéLIO Project at the Heart of Discussions
The program also highlighted the DéLIO project, an initiative designed to support local development projects based on local resources, expertise, and community needs.
This project embodies a commitment to strengthening local dynamics and promoting inclusive and sustainable development at the regional level.
Field Visits to Showcase Local Initiatives
On the sidelines of the forum, the UNDP team conducted several field visits to projects supported under the DéLIO initiative.
Among these projects were Dar Diyafa Oulad Yahia and the Binat Jbal cooperative, which specializes in saffron production. These visits highlighted concrete experiences of economic empowerment and the valorization of local products.
Territorial Development at the Core of Priorities
These initiatives illustrate the importance placed on territorial development and the involvement of local actors in the implementation of economic and social projects.
UNDP Morocco thus reinforces its commitment to supporting local dynamics and enhancing the capacities of civil society organizations.
Strengthened Partnership with Local Stakeholders
The United Nations programme thanked all partners, associations, and local stakeholders met in Oujda for the quality of their engagement.
These interactions pave the way for new avenues of collaboration aimed at fostering more inclusive and sustainable local development.
