Solar Energy: Eiffage to Build 4 Photovoltaic Plants in Morocco for the Noor Atlas Program
Morocco continues to strengthen its green energy strategy with the implementation of the Noor Atlas program, which involves the construction of four photovoltaic power plants entrusted to the French group Eiffage.
This project, led by the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen), is set to be completed by mid-2027 and will have a total installed capacity of 225 MWp.
A Structuring Project for Energy Transition
The Noor Atlas program aligns with the national energy transition strategy aimed at increasing the share of renewable energies within the country’s electricity mix.
Construction began in 2026 and includes the following phases:
- Design of the installations
- Provision of equipment
- Construction and connection to the grid
- Commissioning of the power plants
- Operation and maintenance over several years
Capacity Distributed Across Four Sites
The four photovoltaic power plants will be strategically located across different regions of the Kingdom:
- Aïn Beni Mathar: 121 MWp
- Enjil: 42 MWp
- Boudnib: 33 MWp
- Bouanane: 29 MWp
This distribution allows for the enhancement of various regions while boosting the generation of clean electricity.

The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy plays a central role in the planning and implementation of these projects.
The Noor Atlas program is a continuation of the Kingdom’s significant solar initiatives, which have been underway for several years in various regions.
