Meeting in Rabat: Strengthening Economic Ties Between Morocco and France
On Tuesday in Rabat, the President of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, welcomed a delegation of French business leaders operating across various sectors. This meeting is part of a visit to Morocco scheduled from June 8 to 12, aimed at helping French investors gain a better understanding of the economic opportunities and major structural projects initiated by the Kingdom.
During the meeting, Rachid Talbi El Alami outlined the key reforms and development strategies implemented under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He particularly emphasized the economic, institutional, and infrastructural transformations that enhance Morocco’s appeal as a strategic hub connecting Africa, Europe, and the rest of the world.
The discussions also addressed the evolving business and investment climate in Morocco. The President highlighted the advances made in economic governance, the modernization of the legal framework, and the improvement of the investment environment, all of which foster confidence among international operators.
Participants also explored several strategic initiatives launched by Morocco in support of the African continent. Notable among these is the Royal Initiative aimed at facilitating Sahel countries’ access to the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Africa-Atlantic Pipeline project, recognized as one of the continent’s most significant energy undertakings.
Rachid Talbi El Alami further underscored Morocco’s role in enhancing South-South cooperation and promoting regional economic development through partnerships grounded in solidarity and mutual interests.
Additionally, the French delegation was briefed on the specifics of the Moroccan political system and the national parliamentary experience, which has seen over six decades of institutional evolution. This presentation highlighted the Kingdom’s political stability and the assurances provided to both national and foreign investors.
This meeting reflects Morocco’s commitment to strengthening its economic relations with France and promoting the opportunities presented by major development projects across several strategic sectors.
