Taza: Launch of Three Social and Educational Projects Worth Nearly 17 Million Dirhams

Celebrating Milestones: Inauguration of Essential Projects in Taza

On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Unity Festival, the 51st anniversary of the glorious Green March, and the 71st anniversary of Independence Day, Mr. Rachid Benchikhi, the governor of Taza province, and Mr. Mounir El Bouyoussfi, the General Director of the Agency for the Promotion and Development of the North (APDN), inaugurated three significant projects on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The event took place in the presence of representatives from decentralized services, security authorities, and local stakeholders.

Through these initiatives, the APDN and its partners continue their commitment to enhancing access to essential services, promoting the inclusion of individuals with disabilities, and ensuring equal opportunities in rural areas.

These projects, overseen by the APDN with Taza province serving as the delegated project owner and supported by the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), involve a total investment of nearly 17 million dirhams. The initiatives focus on the Attadamoun Center in Taza and the Dar Talib and Dar Taliba facilities in Bni Frassen and Meghraoua. The latter two benefit from the guidance of the National Assistance and are managed by local charitable associations.

Mobilizing an investment of 9.1 million MAD, the project for the development, extension, and equipping of the Attadamoun Center in Taza aims to improve the conditions of reception and support for 260 beneficiaries. This project is part of the INDH’s program dedicated to assisting vulnerable individuals. The center includes specialized educational spaces tailored for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, or intellectual and motor disabilities. It also features vocational training workshops, rehabilitation and psychological support areas, artistic expression rooms, and sports facilities. The project encompasses the acquisition of equipment and a vehicle for transporting children.

The financing for the project is provided by the INDH with 7.8 million MAD and by the APDN with 1.3 million MAD, with management entrusted to the Attadamoun Association for Children with Special Needs in Taza.

In the municipality of Bni Frassen, the project for the development, extension, and equipment of Dar Talib and Dar Taliba has mobilized nearly 4.94 million MAD, catering to a capacity of 96 students. The improvements have focused on reception buildings, dining areas, kitchens, administrative offices, a reading room, and outdoor facilities. The renovations also included enhancing accessibility to the facility, demolishing the old building, and acquiring the necessary equipment for its operation.

Meanwhile, in Meghraoua, the project for the elevation and equipping of Dar Talib and Dar Taliba represents an investment of 2.94 million MAD, providing accommodation for 96 students. The renovations encompassed lodging areas and associated facilities such as kitchens, storage spaces, administrative offices, and a reading room, along with exterior enhancements and the equipping of the structure.

Falling under the INDH program geared toward advancing the human capital of future generations, these two projects aim to improve students’ living and educational conditions, promote academic success, and prevent school dropout, particularly among girls.
