Tourism: 44.39 billion dirhams in travel revenue by the end of April 2026

Moroccan Tourism Sector Revenue Remains Robust in 2026
The revenue from Morocco’s tourism sector continues to show strong momentum in 2026. According to the latest data from the Foreign Exchange Office, travel receipts had reached 44.39 billion dirhams by the end of April 2026, confirming the impressive performance of Moroccan tourism in generating foreign currency.
This trend is part of a continuum of positive results observed since the beginning of the year, driven by a sustained rebound in tourist arrivals and an increase in spending by foreign visitors in Morocco.
In the first four months of 2026, the tourism sector has reaffirmed its central role in the national economy as the foremost source of foreign exchange for the Kingdom. This performance also reflects the growing attractiveness of Morocco as a destination on the international markets.
The increase in travel receipts is bolstered by the diversification of the tourism offering, development of hotel infrastructures, and the upgrading of several destinations, notably Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, and Fes.
In a global context marked by heightened competition among destinations, Morocco continues to solidify its position as one of the major tourism hubs in Africa and the Mediterranean basin.
Sector authorities are banking on the continuation of this dynamic to achieve the established goals for tourist attendance and foreign exchange revenue by 2026.
