Royal Air Maroc Becomes Official Global Partner of CAF for Major African Competitions

Royal Air Maroc Partners with CAF for a Major Strategic Alliance

This Saturday in Casablanca, the national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) sealed a significant strategic partnership. Under this agreement, RAM becomes the “Official Global Partner” of CAF, thereby solidifying its central role in promoting African sports.

This partnership will cover major events, including the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 and the Women’s AFCON Morocco 2024, which is scheduled to take place from July 5 to July 26, 2025, along with other key competitions on the African calendar.

A Strengthened Commitment to Sports Mobility in Africa

Through this partnership, Royal Air Maroc is committed to facilitating the mobility of players, teams, and supporters across the continent and internationally. The airline plans to implement a unique operational and commercial framework, significantly enhancing its flight program to meet the specific needs of major sporting events.

This ambitious plan includes increased transport capacity through fleet expansion during major competitions, providing more flight options and destinations for African supporters and the diaspora.

RAM has tailored its flight program to meet the growing demand, focusing particularly on supporters from participating African countries while also making Morocco more accessible to African communities living abroad.

Collaboration Praised by CAF

Present at the signing ceremony, Patrice Motsepe, President of CAF, described this agreement as a “historic moment” for African football. He commended RAM’s exceptional leadership, believing that this partnership will enable hundreds of thousands of supporters to travel to Morocco for AFCON 2025.

Motsepe also praised Morocco’s remarkable progress in sports infrastructure: “The stadiums, the pitches, and the facilities are world-class,” he stated, expressing optimism for an exceptional edition of AFCON next December.

Moreover, he reminded the audience that the Kingdom will also host the Women’s AFCON, highlighting that these events are part of a broader vision to develop African football and enhance its global presence.

An African Vision Driven by Moroccan Leadership

For his part, Hamid Addou, CEO of RAM, asserted that this agreement aligns with the airline’s strong African vocation, in line with the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aimed at strengthening South-South cooperation and promoting African integration.

“This partnership is the result of a synergy between Royal Air Maroc, the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), and CAF, marking a new step in supporting African sports and cultural dynamics,” he emphasized.

Addou announced a doubling of flight frequencies to several African capitals, as well as special offers and dedicated packages for supporters, ensuring that everyone can enjoy major African football events in the best possible conditions.

The agreement’s signing took place in the presence of Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), member of the CAF Executive Committee, and representative of the African body on the FIFA Council.
