Military Cooperation Between Morocco and Rwanda

Following the high directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), Army Corps General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, welcomed Major General Vincent Nyakarundi, Chief of Staff of the Rwandan Army, during an official visit to Morocco from November 10 to 14.

According to a statement from the FAR’s General Staff, this visit is part of the implementation of the military cooperation agreement signed in June 2025 in Rabat. This agreement outlines the collaborative areas between the two countries in terms of training, expertise exchange, operational security, and strategic coordination.

During their discussions, General Nyakarundi expressed his deep satisfaction with the quality of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Rwanda. He highlighted that this visit marks a crucial step in deepening military cooperation and provides a privileged framework to enhance exchanges between the two armies.

Both officials reiterated their mutual commitment to sustain the momentum of engagement and expand the areas of collaboration, reaffirming their shared ambition to build a structured, sustainable, and exemplary military partnership.

The relations between Morocco and Rwanda rest on a solid foundation, strengthened since the historic visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Kigali in 2016. They are now evolving toward a strategic partnership aimed at promoting peace, security, and development across the African continent.
