The Casablanca Stock Exchange Begins with a Gloomy Outlook

Casablanca Stock Exchange Experiences Decline on Monday

The Casablanca Stock Exchange opened on a somber note on Monday, with its flagship index, the MASI, dropping by 0.51% to reach 19,169.7 points.

The MASI 20, which tracks the 20 most liquid stocks, fell by 0.52% to 1,564.1 points. Similarly, the MASI ESG index, which focuses on companies with the highest ESG ratings as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, declined by 0.12% to 1,298.7 points.

The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which measures the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, experienced a 0.58% decrease, settling at 1,856.93 points.

Among individual stocks, IB Maroc.com suffered the most significant drop, down 8.44% to 73.25 MAD, followed by Eqdom (-4.92% to 1,217 MAD), Réalisations Mécaniques (-4.28% to 507.3 MAD), Sanlam Maroc (-3.85% to 1,923 MAD), and Disway (-3.83% to 880 MAD).

In contrast, Involys saw a notable increase, rising by 3.7% to 243.9 MAD. Other gainers included Résidences Dar Saada (+2.87% to 179 MAD), Ennakl (+2.52% to 61 MAD), SMI (+1.52% to 2,600 MAD), and Lesieur Cristal (+1.46% to 299.3 MAD).

On Friday, the MASI had closed with a loss of 0.71%.
