Order of Chartered Accountants: Yassine El Maguiri Elected President of the National Council

New Era for Morocco’s Accounting Professionals: Inauguration of the National Council’s New Bureau
The Order of Chartered Accountants of Morocco has turned a new page in its history with the official installation of the new bureau of the National Council for the 2026-2029 term. This milestone follows the recent professional elections that culminated in the election of Yassine El Maguiri as the head of the institution.
Leading the polls in the election held in May, Yassine El Maguiri was appointed president of the National Council during the inaugural meeting of the elected members. His ascension to this role marks the beginning of a new cycle for the profession, set against a backdrop of significant economic, regulatory, and technological changes.
The new president’s mission will be to spearhead key modernization initiatives for the Order and to strengthen the role of chartered accountants in supporting businesses and institutions. He will also need to ensure that the profession adapts to new demands arising from digital transformation, evolving accounting standards, and the growing importance of governance and financial transparency.
This new leadership team is expected to continue the efforts initiated in recent years to enhance the profession’s attractiveness, improve continuing education for practitioners, and solidify relationships with various institutional and economic partners. Today, chartered accountants play a strategic role in the national economic fabric, contributing to the reliability of financial information and the sound governance of public and private organizations.
In the coming weeks, the National Council is expected to finalize its internal organization through the establishment of various specialized committees tasked with managing technical and professional issues. This structuring will enable the effective support of the reforms and projects that lie ahead for the profession in the coming years.
The installation of the new bureau thus reflects the Order of Chartered Accountants’ commitment to continuing its development and modernization efforts. Under the presidency of Yassine El Maguiri, the institution aims to strengthen its dedication to professional excellence and contribute significantly to the economic development of the Kingdom.
