INDH Tinghir: Strengthened Support for Vulnerable Children
INDH Strengthens Support for Vulnerable Children in Tinghir Province
In Tinghir Province, the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) places particular emphasis on supporting vulnerable children, aligning with its national vision for social inclusion. Through a series of educational, psychological, and social programs, the initiative aims to integrate these children and support their families, especially in this predominantly mountainous region.
A Dedicated Center for Autistic Children: Specialized Support
Among the key projects is the Tinghir Center for Autistic Children, an infrastructure inaugurated in July 2024, designed to provide tailored support for this category of children who require specific care.
Financed by the INDH with a budget of 4 million dirhams, the center spans 600 m² and can accommodate up to 40 children. It features:
educational and psychomotor rooms,
a library,
dormitories,
a gymnasium and a play area,
a medical office, a kitchen, and a restaurant.
Managed by the Tawassoul Association, the center offers early diagnosis, behavioral monitoring, educational activities, and paramedical programs. According to its educational coordinator, Meryem Saddiki, each child receives personalized support tailored to their abilities.
Facilities for Children Without Families: A Model of Social Protection
As part of INDH’s Program 2, which supports individuals in precarious situations, a center specifically for children without families was inaugurated in 2023 with an investment of 1.58 million dirhams.
Covering an area of 600 m², it offers:
secure accommodation,
educational support,
schooling,
medical care,
sports and recreational activities.
Salma Sahal, a representative from the Social Action Division, emphasizes that the center provides comprehensive care, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment conducive to personal growth and recovery for these children. Currently, 16 children aged between 6 months and 17 years are being cared for at this facility.
A Social Dynamic Supported by Numerous INDH Projects
As part of INDH’s Program 2, 82 projects have been successfully implemented in Tinghir Province, demonstrating a continuous commitment to social inclusion and the protection of vulnerable populations. This strategy is based on an approach that emphasizes proximity, efficiency, and sustainable support.
Towards a More Supportive Society Through an Integrated Approach
Through its initiatives, INDH affirms its ambition to build a more equitable society, placing support for vulnerable children at the heart of its actions. The infrastructure established and the services provided illustrate a steadfast commitment to ensuring that every child has access to healthcare, education, and a nurturing environment conducive to their development.
