Huawei Africa Night 2025 Honors the “African Intelligence Pioneers”

Shanghai, China, September 24, 2025 — Held on September 18 alongside HUAWEI CONNECT 2025, Huawei Africa Night 2025 took place under the theme “All Intelligence for New Africa.” Over 500 partners, government representatives, experts, and industry leaders gathered to share the latest advancements in innovation and collaboration in ICT (Information and Communication Technology), united by a common goal: to advance the continent’s intelligent transformation.
Shen Li, President of Huawei Northern Africa, delivered the opening speech.
Shen Li, President of Huawei Northern Africa (North, West, and Central Africa), emphasized that the continent is at a decisive turning point, transitioning from mere computerization to a fully digital and intelligent era. Across all sectors, technological leaps are taking place: from lack of coverage to 4G, 5G, and FTTH networks; from paper administration to intelligent one-stop public service platforms; from cash transactions to mobile payments; and from unstable electricity to efficient green solar energy. As a global leader in ICT, and true to its commitment of “In Africa, for Africa,” Huawei positions itself as a reliable long-term partner. To realize the vision of “All Intelligence for New Africa,” the company is implementing a framework based on three pillars — New Values, New Infrastructures, and New Ecosystem. Under New Values, Huawei proposes five inclusive solutions tailored to key scenarios: inclusive connectivity, inclusive education, inclusive public services, inclusive security, and inclusive energy. With New Infrastructures, Huawei combines cloud and AI, networks, and devices to offer end-to-end solutions. Through New Ecosystem, Huawei fosters an open, collaborative community of clients, partners, and talent to accelerate the shift towards intelligent digital operations in Africa. The company will continue to work closely with the broader ecosystem on strategy, technology, innovation, and talent development.
The Huawei Northern Africa team then presented structured interventions around these three pillars, detailing how this framework supports the continent’s digital and intelligent transformation, and facilitated discussions with guests on current trends and best practices across Africa.
During the event, Huawei unveiled the “African Intelligence Pioneers,” a recognition program that honors visionary organizations whose investments in intelligent technologies are already yielding tangible results.
The awardees span nine sectors — public administration, telecommunications, education, health, oil & gas, mining, transport, energy, and finance — comprising fourteen organizations. By adopting AI, cloud, and other advanced technologies, these players are positioning themselves as innovators and trailblazers, shaping new business models and solutions tailored for the continent, paving the way toward a more interconnected digital and intelligent Africa.
