The CNSS Warns of a New Email Scam Campaign

The National Social Security Fund (CNSS) has issued an official alert after detecting fraudulent emails impersonating its identity, aimed at beneficiaries to steal their personal information. This warning comes amidst an increasing number of phishing attempts using sophisticated techniques to convince victims that the messages genuinely originate from the institution.
Deceptive Messages Posing as CNSS
The CNSS emphasized that these emails do not come from any of its official services, clarifying that they are only used to deceive citizens and obtain confidential information that could be exploited in financial fraud or identity theft. The institution further noted that fraudsters employ language and styles similar to CNSS’s official communication, which necessitates heightened vigilance.
A Call for Caution and No Interaction
The institution advises beneficiaries not to respond to any suspicious messages, refrain from clicking on any links or attachments, and not to share any banking information or identity documents via email. It also stresses the importance of promptly reporting any fraudulent attempts to the relevant authorities to enhance preventive measures.
Sensitive Data in the Crosshairs of Scammers
These fraudulent messages seek to obtain critical personal information such as identity card numbers, banking data, or login credentials. Such information can be used to carry out illegal transactions or create fictitious identities for fraudulent purposes. The mere act of requesting such information via email is already a clear indication of phishing.
Recordings Renew the Debate on Fraudster Methods
This alert follows the circulation on social media of audio recordings and videos made by citizens who were targeted by similar attempts. These contents reveal the tactics employed by the fraudsters, ranging from identity theft to the use of official discourse, as well as psychological pressure techniques aimed at compelling the victim to divulge their personal data.
