Marrakech: Arrest of a Judicial Impersonator

In Marrakech, a man who pretended to be the King’s Prosecutor and demanded 5,000 dirhams from a citizen to cancel a search warrant issued against him was placed in police custody on Thursday, following instructions from the King’s Prosecutor at the local court of first instance.
Arrest Near the Court
The suspect was apprehended while receiving the demanded amount near the courthouse. This operation was carried out in accordance with the directives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Marrakech Court of First Instance.
Home Searches and Seizures
During searches conducted at his residence, authorities confiscated several stamps and documents necessary for the investigation.
Seizure of a Significant Amount of Money
The investigation also uncovered a sum estimated at 5 million dirhams, highlighting the breadth of the individual’s illegal activities.
Ongoing Investigation
The suspect remains in custody while the inquiry continues to determine the extent of his network and fraudulent practices.
