MDJS Confirms Its Certifications in Security and Integrity

La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports (MDJS) Renews Certifications for ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and World Lottery Association Standards
La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports (MDJS) has successfully renewed its certifications according to the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard and the World Lottery Association (WLA) security control standards, version 2024.
The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard is an international framework that specifies the requirements for an Information Security Management System (ISMS). This standard provides the necessary tools for a thorough risk assessment and the implementation of appropriate controls to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
In addition, the WLA Security Control Standard (WLA-SCS: 2024) defines a management standard for risk, integrity, and security. It enables lotteries to achieve a level of control that aligns with industry best practices, thereby increasing trust in the integrity of lottery operators.
The revised 2024 version of the framework strengthens requirements concerning cybersecurity, operational resilience, and the protection of sensitive data related to lottery and betting activities. It also introduces a more integrated approach to risk management, consistent with the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard.
Following a comprehensive audit conducted by Bureau VERITAS, the Information Security Management System (ISMS) that supports the development, marketing, sales, and operations of MDJS was found to comply with the required standards and international best practices.
The renewal of these certifications, valid for three years with an annual reassessment audit, attests to the ongoing implementation of a framework of best data management practices and the application of optimal procedures for security and risk management.
MDJS’s alignment with the security control standards of the World Lottery Association, the only internationally recognized security standards in the lottery sector, demonstrates that MDJS meets the highest professional standards, thus ensuring the reliability and integrity of its gaming operations.
In 2005, MDJS became the first African gaming institution and the 21st globally to obtain, and since then reaffirm, the dual certification of ISO 27001 and WLA.
