Weather: Snow, Rain, and Strong Winds This Saturday

Snowfall in the Mountains Starting at 1,200 Meters
The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) predicts significant local snowfall for Saturday, January 24, 2026, in the Atlas, Rif, and Eastern High Plateaus, starting from an altitude of 1,200 meters.
Rain and Storms in Several Regions
Rain and occasional thunderstorms are expected in the Tangier region, Loukkos, Rif, the Mediterranean coast, northern Oriental, Saïss, Middle and High Atlas, as well as their western plains, the Gharb, and the northern and central Atlantic plains.
Cloudy Weather with Light Precipitation in the Southeast
The sky will be intermittently cloudy with light scattered rains in southern Oriental and the northwestern provinces of the South.
Gusty Winds and Dust Storms in Some Areas
Strong gusts of wind are expected in the Atlantic plains, Tangier region, Mediterranean, Rif, Atlas mountains and adjacent areas, Saïss, phosphate plateaus, and Oulmès, as well as in the Saharan provinces. Local dust storm phenomena are also anticipated in the Southeast, southern Oriental, and Saharan provinces.
General Drop in Temperatures
The weather will be quite cold to cold in the Atlas mountains, Rif, and Eastern High Plateaus. Minimum temperatures will range from -7 to -2°C in the High and Middle Atlas, between -1 and 4°C in the Anti-Atlas, Rif, and Eastern High Plateaus, from 10 to 14°C in the South, extreme Southeast, and near the coasts, and between 5 and 9°C elsewhere. Daytime temperatures will decrease across the country.
Sea Conditions
The sea will be slightly to moderately rough in the West, choppy to rough in the Eastern Mediterranean, strong to very strong in the Strait, very rough to large north of Tan-Tan, and strong to very strong between Tan-Tan and Tarfaya, with choppy to rough conditions south of Tarfaya.
