Key Highlights from the January 2026 Producer Price Index for Industrial, Energy, and Mining Sectors
The following are the main points from the information note regarding the Producer Price Index for Industrial, Energy, and Mining Sectors (IPPIEM) released by the High Commissioner for Planning (HCP) for January 2026:
The Producer Price Index for the sector of “Manufacturing Industries excluding Oil Refining” experienced a 0.3% increase month-over-month, driven by price rises in several areas:
- A 1.3% increase in “Food Industries”
- A 1.3% rise in “Manufacturing of Machinery and Equipment”
- A 0.5% increase in “Manufacturing of Metal Products”
- A 0.5% rise in “Manufacturing of Other Non-Metallic Mineral Products”
- A 0.4% increase in the “Clothing Industry”
- A 0.8% increase in “Furniture Manufacturing”
- A 0.1% increase in the “Textile Industry”
However, there was a decrease of 0.2% in “Metallurgy.”
The Producer Price Indices for the “Extractive Industries,” “Production and Distribution of Electricity,” and “Production and Distribution of Water” showed no change during this period.
