Weather Forecast for Morocco on March 10
The General Directorate of Meteorology has predicted relatively cold weather for Tuesday, March 10, particularly in the mountain ranges of the Atlas, Rif, and the high plateaus of the Oriental region, with a general decline in temperatures across several areas of the Kingdom throughout the day.
Snow and Rain in Several Areas
Snowfall is expected in the high and middle Atlas mountain ranges, as well as in the Rif, especially in areas situated above 1,400 meters in the southern parts of the Oriental region. Rain showers, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms, are also likely to affect the eastern parts of the country, the Atlas, the Rif, the Saïss region, Oulmès, the Mediterranean coastline, Tanger, the Gharb region, and the Atlantic plains north of Essaouira.
Low Clouds, Fog, and Wind Gusts
Additionally, low clouds along with misty conditions are anticipated in the northwestern provinces of the South. Strong gusts of wind may also blow across the southeast, the Atlas, and central and southern regions, sometimes accompanied by local dust storms.
Decrease in Minimum Temperatures
Minimum temperatures are forecasted to range from -8 to 0°C in the Atlas mountains, from 1 to 6°C in the Rif and high plateaus of the Oriental, and from 12 to 19°C near the Atlantic coast and in the extreme southern regions of the country. In other areas of the Kingdom, temperatures will fluctuate between 6 and 12°C, while daytime temperatures are expected to see a general decline.
Sea Conditions
Regarding sea conditions, the Mediterranean and the strait will be slightly to moderately agitated, while strong to very strong waves are anticipated between Cap Tafelney and Tan-Tan, and the rest of Morocco’s coastlines will experience rough to turbulent seas.
