Iraq: 4 Crew Members Killed in American Tanker Crash

Four crew members were killed in the crash of an American refueling aircraft in western Iraq, U.S. Central Command (Centcom) announced on Friday, clarifying that the loss of the KC-135 was not due to “hostile fire.”

“Four of the six crew members aboard the aircraft perished, while rescue operations continue,” Centcom specified in a statement posted on X.

“The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation. However, the loss of the aircraft was not due to enemy or friendly fire,” it added.
