Eid Al-Fitr and the End of School Holidays: Special Train Schedule in Morocco

ONCF Announces Special Train Service for Eid Al-Fitr 1447 H Celebration

The National Office of Railways (ONCF) has announced a special train service program for the Eid Al-Fitr 1447 H celebration, set to take place from March 17 to March 29, 2026. This initiative aims to facilitate comfortable and safe travel for commuters, particularly as the holiday coincides with the end of the school vacation period.

In a statement, ONCF specified that this plan includes the scheduling of additional trains and an increased service capacity on the busiest routes during the departure and return times related to the festive occasion.

Increased Frequencies for Al Boraq High-Speed Train

Regarding the high-speed train Al Boraq, a frequency of one train per hour will be maintained between Tangier, Kenitra, Rabat, and Casablanca, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM for outbound journeys, except for the peak hours between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

For return journeys, the same hourly frequency will be upheld from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with increased seating capacity during peak periods throughout the Eid celebrations.

Additional Atlas Trains to Various Cities

ONCF will also enhance its service on Atlas trains by increasing capacity and scheduling additional trains on several major routes. This includes the Marrakech – Casablanca – Fès line, as well as services to Oujda, Nador, Khouribga, and Safi.

Gradual Resumption of Rapid Shuttle Trains

Concerning the rapid shuttle trains, ONCF indicated that the service previously offered before Ramadan will be gradually restored on the Casablanca – Settat line prior to Eid Al-Fitr.

For other lines, regular service will resume after the day of Eid, with a frequency of one train every 30 minutes between Casablanca-Port and Kenitra, along with one train per hour to and from Mohammed V Airport.

Enhanced Support at Train Stations

To optimize management during this busy period, ONCF announced increased support teams for welcoming, assisting, and guiding travelers in stations and aboard trains. Technical teams will also be on standby 24/7 to ensure smooth railway operations.

Encouragement to Purchase Tickets in Advance

Finally, ONCF encourages travelers to purchase round-trip tickets in advance to avoid long lines at stations and ensure seat availability. Tickets can be obtained at ticket counters and automated machines in stations, online via the official website, or through the ONCF VOYAGES mobile app.

The Office also clarified that the number of scheduled trains will be reduced on the day of Eid, urging travelers to consult the schedule through its official information channels.
