Weather Forecast for Thursday: Cold Temperatures and Snow in the High Atlas
The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts a relatively cold day this Thursday in the mountainous regions of the Atlas and the Rif, with snowfall expected at the peaks of the High Atlas.
Significant rain or thunderstorms are also anticipated in the Chaouia, Doukkala, Abda, Chiadma, and Rehamna regions, as well as in the Souss, High Atlas, and Southeast areas. Scattered precipitation is expected to affect Tangier, Loukkos, the Rif, Gharb, Middle Atlas, and the western provinces of the South.
Moreover, strong gusts of wind are forecasted in the Atlas, Central regions, Southern provinces, Southeast, and southern Oriental areas, including Tangier and the Mediterranean coastal front, bringing localized dust storms in certain areas.
Minimum temperatures will range from -2 to 6°C in the mountainous areas of the Atlas, from 4 to 10°C in the High plateaus, the Rif, and the eastern slopes of the Atlas, and between 10 and 16°C in other regions.
Daytime temperatures will see a decrease along the Atlantic coasts, Souss, and the Mediterranean front, while rising in the rest of the country.
Finally, the sea will be moderately choppy to choppy in the Mediterranean and the Strait, becoming rough to very rough locally between El Jadida (Jorf) and Tan-Tan.
