Arbeloa Expresses Full Confidence in Mbappé Ahead of Madrid Derby
Real Madrid’s coach, Álvaro Arbeloa, has voiced his “complete confidence” in Kylian Mbappé, who is now fully recovered, just before the Madrid derby against Atlético Madrid.
Returning from a knee injury, Mbappé made a substitute appearance against Manchester City, displaying promising signs of form. Arbeloa expressed his reassurance regarding the player’s physical condition, emphasizing that Mbappé has returned to 100% of his capabilities.
Additionally, English international Jude Bellingham is also fit to play after recovering from a hamstring injury. He has been included in the squad for the match scheduled for Sunday at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and could make his return to the pitch.
Arbeloa also praised Mbappé’s selection for the French national team for upcoming friendly matches against Brazil and Colombia, noting that it affirms his return to the highest level of competition.
On the sporting front, Mbappé remains Real Madrid’s top scorer this season, with 38 goals in 34 matches across all competitions, making him a crucial asset for the team during this decisive phase.
In the La Liga standings, Real Madrid is currently in second place with 66 points, trailing leader FC Barcelona. Atlético Madrid sits in fourth place with 57 points, adding extra significance to this derby in the title race.
Finally, the Madrid club will have to cope without their first-choice goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, who is unavailable for several weeks due to a thigh injury. His replacement, Andriy Lunin, is expected to step in, backed by the full confidence of his coach.
