Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, continues its unwavering policy of solidarity with Arab brothers to promote regional stability.

The Kingdom of Morocco: A Commitment to Arab Solidarity

Under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom of Morocco continues its steadfast policy of effective solidarity with Arab brothers, reflecting a firm Royal stance supporting Arab sovereignty and regional stability amidst the dangerous escalation from Iran, affirmed Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad.

Speaking at the 165th ordinary session of the League of Arab States Council at the ministerial level, held via video conference on Sunday, Mr. Bourita reminded attendees that Morocco was the first to express solidarity with its Arab brothers as soon as the crisis erupted, in line with Royal directives.

The minister also highlighted that His Majesty had direct discussions with the leaders of Gulf countries during which the Sovereign “reinforced Morocco’s firm condemnation of the despicable aggressions targeting the sovereignty of these brother states and the security of their territories, as well as His Majesty’s full support for these countries in all legitimate measures they deem appropriate to preserve their security and the tranquility of their citizens.”

The Arab region is currently navigating a delicate and exceedingly complex period, characterized by “relentless aggressions that have exceeded all limits, targeting innocent civilians and vital infrastructure such as airports, ports, and power plants, in blatant violation of international laws and customs, all while profoundly infringing on the peoples’ right to live in dignity and security,” continued Mr. Bourita.

The minister specified that these attacks were directed at Arab countries that were not involved in any conflict, warning that “the continuation of these aggressions, if left unchecked, risks escalating the conflict into a regional confrontation threatening the stability of the entire region and, potentially, world peace,” emphasizing the considerable damage these aggressions have inflicted on both regional and international economies.

“Where are these crises leading us? And how long will the Iranian regime continue to undermine the security and stability of the region, persisting in an aggression campaign lasting half a century?” queried Mr. Bourita, reflecting the Arab community’s concerns regarding this situation.

In light of this reality, the minister asserted that the historical responsibility of Arab states mandates a firm and resolute response to such actions, reiterating his call for Iran to comply with Security Council Resolution 2817 and to immediately and unconditionally cease all acts of aggression. He also advocated for “the establishment of a unified and firm Arab position against this hostile behavior.”

He called for support for “Arab states in all legitimate measures they take to protect their territories” and urged for “immediate and decisive actions to ensure the security of regional airspace and maritime navigation.”

The Kingdom of Morocco, closely following the recent initiatives and mediation proposals, reaffirms that serious dialogue and reasoned approaches remain the only pathways to restoring security and stability in the region, noted Mr. Bourita, announcing that the Kingdom supports and values any initiative aimed at de-escalation, putting an end to the ongoing conflict, and establishing foundations that ensure it does not recur, regardless of the circumstances, to protect the rights of Arab states and their peoples to live in peace, stability, and security.

In conclusion, he stated that Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, will remain unwavering in defending the supreme interests of the Arab nation, as well as the security and stability of the region, thereby embodying a pioneering model of concrete solidarity and principled positions.
