Weather Forecast for Thursday, April 16

The General Directorate of Meteorology anticipates varied weather conditions across the Kingdom for Thursday, April 16, characterized by fog, light rain in some areas, and a noticeable increase in temperatures in several regions.

Fog and Light Rain on the Atlantic Plains

Fog formations are expected during the morning and night, particularly in the northern and central Atlantic plains, as well as in the northwest of the Saharan provinces. In some locations, this fog may bring light precipitation, which could occasionally reduce visibility.

Rising Temperatures and Relative Warmth in the South

Overall temperatures will rise, with relatively warm weather in the Souss region and the southern provinces. Minimum temperatures will range from -1°C to 7°C in the Atlas mountains, between 15°C and 23°C in the central and southern parts of the country, and from 8°C to 14°C elsewhere.

Convective Clouds Over the Mountain Ranges

Convective clouds are expected to develop over the High and Middle Atlas mountain ranges, potentially resulting in localized showers, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

Wind Gusts and Sandstorms in the South

Strong wind gusts are forecasted for the extreme southern regions of the country, along with local sand lifts that could disrupt traffic in some desert areas.

Sea Conditions: Variable State

As for sea conditions, the Mediterranean will be calm to slightly choppy, and the Strait will also be calm to slightly choppy, occasionally becoming more agitated. Along the Atlantic coastline, the sea will be slightly choppy to rough, with conditions becoming very rough north of Tan-Tan during the morning.

These forecasts urge caution, particularly in areas exposed to dense fog and strong winds, and recommend keeping up with regular weather updates.
