Tourism revenue in foreign currency reached a historic level of 112 billion dirhams (11.2 billion MAD) in 2024, marking an exceptional increase of 43% compared to 2019, and a 7% rise from 2023, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.

In a statement, the ministry highlighted that this remarkable performance is the result of an exceptional year, characterized by the arrival of 17.4 million tourists, a new record for Morocco. In December 2024, revenues nearly reached 8 billion MAD, representing an 11% increase compared to the same period last year.

This positive trend demonstrates the growing appeal of the Kingdom and its ability to attract an increasingly diverse and demanding clientele, as evidenced by the 20% increase in tourist arrivals in 2024.

Fatim-Zahra Ammor, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, explained that this growth reflects the maturity of the Moroccan tourism sector, which is capable of adapting to new global trends while highlighting its natural, cultural, and human assets.

She also emphasized that Morocco is now focusing on a diverse range of offerings and authentic experiences to meet the varied expectations of travelers, a strategy that is clearly reflected in the achieved results.

Finally, the statement reminds us that these exceptional results have a significant impact on job creation and local development, underscoring the central role of tourism in the national economy.
