Elections: An Exceptional Extension Granted for Voter Registration

Exceptional Registration Period Announced for General Voter Lists
The Ministry of the Interior has announced the opening of an exceptional period for registration on the general voter lists, aimed at allowing citizens who meet the legal requirements to regularize their electoral status.
In a statement, the Ministry clarified that this measure falls within the framework of the law regarding general voter lists. It seeks to expand citizen participation by providing a new opportunity for those who have not yet registered, as well as for those who have changed their place of residence.
This catch-up period specifically applies to Moroccans who have reached the required legal voting age, those who did not register during the regular time frames, and voters wishing to transfer their registration to a new electoral district, in accordance with existing rules.
The Ministry emphasizes that applications can be submitted to the relevant local administrative authorities, which remain dedicated to assisting citizens in this process while adhering to the procedures and legal protections stipulated by law.
Through this initiative, the authorities aim to enhance the inclusivity of the electoral process and ensure the effective exercise of the constitutional right to vote, a fundamental pillar of democratic participation.
In this regard, the Ministry of the Interior urges all concerned individuals to seize this exceptional opportunity within the designated time frame, in order to avoid any unintentional exclusion from the upcoming electoral events.
