Qatar Announces Gradual Resumption of Foreign Airline Flights to Hamad Airport

Learil the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority announced on Monday the gradual resumption of foreign airline flights to Hamad International Airport, marking the first such return since the onset of the conflict in the Middle East.

Gradual Resumption of Air Traffic

In an official statement, the General Authority of Civil Aviation indicated that it has issued an aviation directive allowing for the gradual return of foreign airline flights operating in Qatar to Hamad Airport.

Measures Related to Security Context

Qatar had closed its airspace following missile and drone strikes launched by Iran toward the country and other Gulf states, before partially resuming air traffic on March 7, which included some operations of Qatar Airways.

Assessment of the Security Situation

The authority specified that this decision comes after a comprehensive evaluation of the security situation, while reaffirming that “the safety of all users remains the top priority.”

Towards a Gradual Return to Normalcy

This measure is part of ongoing efforts to gradually restore normal air traffic in the region, while closely monitoring the evolving security context in the Middle East.
