Madison Keys Secures Her First Grand Slam Title at the Australian Open by Defeating Aryna Sabalenka

American Madison Keys, currently ranked 14th in the world, claimed her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open on Saturday, defeating world number one Aryna Sabalenka. This victory denies the Belarusian her chance for a third consecutive title—a feat not achieved in the 21st century.
Sabalenka, a three-time major tournament champion, lost in three sets (6-3, 2-6, 7-5) to Keys, who, at 29 years old, was competing in her second Grand Slam final after her loss at the US Open in 2017. Throughout her journey in Melbourne, Keys also eliminated world number two Iga Swiatek before triumphing over Sabalenka.
