M. Amara Received by the President of Equatorial Guinea
Title: Strengthening African Cooperation: A Meeting Between Equatorial Guinea and Morocco
The President of the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council (CESE), Mr. Abdelkader Amara, who also holds the presidency of the Union of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions of Africa, was received on Tuesday in Malabo by the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
This meeting included the participation of Mr. Marcelino Owoono Edu, President of the National Council for Economic and Social Development of Equatorial Guinea, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Malabo, Mr. Ghulam Mishaan, and senior officials from both institutions. The gathering took place alongside the fifth roundtable between the Union of Economic and Social Councils of Africa and the Economic and Social Council of China.
Celebrating African Cooperation
During the meeting, the Equatorial Guinean President commended the shared development approach championed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the African continent, highlighting its significance in strengthening South-South cooperation.
He also emphasized the dynamic collaboration between the National Council for Economic and Social Development of Equatorial Guinea and Morocco’s CESE.
Morocco Reaffirms Its Commitment to Africa
For his part, Mr. Abdelkader Amara underscored the excellent relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, under the guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
He noted the momentum of bilateral cooperation across various areas of mutual interest, as well as Morocco’s role in supporting regional economic integration in Africa through initiatives grounded in solidarity, shared development, and recognized expertise.
Towards Diversifying African Economies
Lastly, Mr. Amara stressed the necessity of diversifying African economies and enhancing intra-African cooperation to support the continent’s structural transformation efforts.
