Real Estate in Spain: Moroccans among the Most Active Foreign Buyers Despite Rising Prices
Over 1,500 Acquisitions in Three Months
Between January and March 2026, Moroccan nationals made over 1,500 property purchases in Spain. This volume places them third among foreign buyers, accounting for approximately 6.2% of international transactions in this market.
They rank behind British and Dutch buyers while surpassing German and French investors, according to data published by Idealista and reported by Spanish property registries.
A Strongly Dynamic International Market
During the same period, nearly 25,000 real estate transactions were completed by non-residents, confirming the strong allure of the Spanish market. This marks one of the best historical results recorded, according to the Property Registries.
This trend is particularly evident in coastal and tourist areas, which are highly sought after by foreign buyers.
Focus on Coastal Regions
The provinces of Alicante and Malaga rank among the most popular destinations. Foreign buyers represent 44.6% and 34.3% of transactions in these areas, respectively, highlighting the significance of international demand in these regions.
In this context, Moroccans are establishing themselves as major players in a booming Spanish real estate market, driven by the appeal of tourist areas and the pursuit of stable investments.
