Dismantling of a Terrorist Cell: Seizure of an Explosive Device in the Assembly Phase Near Rabat

Investigations following the dismantling of a terrorist cell linked to the African branch of the “Daesh” organization on Wednesday have uncovered additional items, including an improvised explosive device that was in the assembly phase. This device was composed of a gas cylinder connected to pipes and electrical wires.

According to a statement from the DGSN-DGST, these items were found in an isolated area of the Sidi Larbi housing development, located in Ain Aouda, near Rabat. They had been buried beneath mounds of earth by the members of the cell, who were apprehended in Tamesna.

The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) utilized drilling equipment to extract the components of the explosive device, which were then cataloged and sealed alongside other items seized in connection with this case.
