National Road 16 Between Tangier and Ksar Sghir Being Doubled: Over 15% Completion Achieved
Progress Exceeds 15% on Key Traffic Improvement Project
Currently, progress on a project aimed at enhancing traffic flow and improving road safety along this strategic route has surpassed 15%.
An Investment of Over 360 Million Dirhams
This initiative involves a total budget exceeding 360 million dirhams. The investment is intended to modernize road infrastructure and support traffic growth in the northern region.
The delivery of the first segment is anticipated by mid-2027, according to the established schedule set by the authorities.
Progress on the First Segment: Tangier – Oued Alian
The construction work for the initial phase focuses on the section connecting Tangier to Oued Alian, covering a distance of 11.6 kilometers at an estimated cost of 267 million dirhams.
This phase includes the execution of technical structures along with significant earthworks and excavation activities, overseen by specialized engineers.
A Second Segment Expected Soon
The bidding process for the contract related to the second segment, which will connect Oued Alian to Ksar Sghir, is expected to begin in the last quarter of this year.
This dual carriageway project serves as a crucial link in strengthening the road connection between Tangier and its hinterland, all while sustainably improving mobility in the region.
