Weather Forecast in Morocco: Persistent Heat and Storm Risks This Friday

Weather Forecast for Friday

The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts relatively warm to hot weather across several regions of the Kingdom this Friday, particularly in the Oriental region, the Moulouya Valley, Saïss, the interior of Gharb, the Tadla plains, the southeast, as well as the east and south of the Saharan provinces.

Low clouds, accompanied by patches of fog or localized light drizzles, are also expected along the Atlantic coasts and plains, in Saïss, the interior of Souss, and the northern parts of the Southern provinces.

Localized thunderstorm showers may affect the mountainous areas of the Middle Atlas and the Oriental region, where unstable clouds will contribute to scattered rainfall.

Additionally, moderate to fairly strong gusts of wind will blow across the High Atlas, southeast, Oriental region, and Saharan provinces, with localized dust phenomena occurring as well.

Minimum temperatures will range from 25 to 30°C in the southeast and extreme southern parts of the country, from 10 to 15°C in the mountainous High Atlas, from 20 to 24°C in the Oriental and northeastern Saharan provinces, and from 16 to 22°C across the rest of the territory.

Maximum temperatures will see a slight decrease in the Southern provinces, while experiencing an increase in most other regions.

At sea, conditions will be calm to slightly choppy in the Mediterranean and the Strait of Gibraltar, slightly choppy to choppy between Boujdour and Lagouira, and slightly choppy along the rest of the Moroccan coastline.
